Felicia A. Seidel 72 passed away at 22 Flamingo Dr in Palm Coast on April 1 2011 due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease.
Eelicia was born on Oct 23 1938 in Camden NJ the daughter of Francis and Vanda Poplaski. In grade school she received the Philadelphia Inquirer's "Letters Award" for young writers was a National Merit Student in High School and in 1959 graduated from Holy Family University (PA) with a BA in Biology. In 1960 she married Thomas E. Seidel a solid state physicist. She held technical positions at Temple and Rutgers Universities supporting medical research. Later she had a successful career advancing to a human resource administrator for the Summit Medical Group Summit NJ.
Residences included Berkeley Heights NJ; Cardiff CA; Austin TX; Sunnyvale CA; and Pennsauken NJ and she moved to Palm Coast in 2009. Her many talents included pencil art calligraphy sowing crafts and synchronized swimming. Her interests included impressionistic art classical music and travel (NJ shore Hawaii California Europe - the Baltic and Mediterranean). She was active in volunteer work (giving Picture Lady' lectures at the community grade school in Berkeley Heights and working at the Austin Women Center raising funds for the Austin City Limits). Additionally she is remembered for her elegance grace quick wit and unabated support of to family and friends.
She is survived by Thomas E. Seidel of Palm Coast daughters Miriam Seidel of Barnegat NJ and Ramona Seidel - Schofield of Arnold MD and son Philip Seidel of Austin TX. Her grandchildren are Connor Teresa Maya Schofield and Evan Seidel. She is survived also by her sister Regina of Pennsauken NJ and brother Richard of Oaklyn NJ.
Private service for the family is at the Lohman Funeral Home on Monday April 4 2011. A memorial service will be held in the NJ area at a time to be announced later. Her ashes will be distributed in places of joyful memories for her and the family. In her life one could say she was blest of talent sweet and totally giving to the family.
