Faye Marie Smith, 82, of DeLand, Florida passed away on April 23, 2025 in Sanford, Florida. She was born on December 7, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan to Vernard and Marie (née Piatt) Hopton.

Born in Michigan, Faye's family would call Michigan, West Virginia, and Ohio home as they farmed the land. In 1960 she married Arthur Bartholomew, and together they would have three children. She adored her family and spent many years focusing on building their home and raising their children. She took pride in helping others, which would later lead her to become a Licensed Massage Therapist and shamelessly boasted that she had "healing hands." Faye loved God, and was a faithful lifetime member of the Church of Christ, and found solace and camaraderie in her church family. She loved playing the piano and singing Church Hymns like her mother. In 1982, after her son, Dale, decided to move to Florida, she followed suit, and would call Florida forever home. She loved animals, especially horses, and had several cats and dogs over the years.

Faye is survived by her children, Roxanne (Rick) Baldonado, Dale (Dawn) Bartholomew, and Rosaline Ogle; her grandchildren, Jamie (DeWayne) Martinez, Jason Holsopple, Nichole Bartholomew, Joshua Bartholomew, Alex Baldonado, Victoria Ogle, and Tabatha Ogle; her great-grandchildren, Zachary Adriance, Alyssa Holsopple, Wyatt Martinez, Gracie Martinez, Derick Bartholomew, and Everleigh Herbert; and her great-great-grandson, James.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernard and Marie (née Piatt) Hopton; her first husband, Arthur Bartholomew; and her second husband, Robert Smith; her brothers, Wilbur Hopton and Mervin Hopton; and her sister, Shirley Wilson.

A memorial service for Faye will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home – DeLand. Friends and family are invited to gather at 2:00 pm.
