Obituary

Fay Burdette Williams, 90 of Daytona Beach, FL passed away peacefully on August 19, 2014 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center, Port Orange, FL.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 19th at 3:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach, FL with the Rev. Sonny Gallman of the Central Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Fay was born on November 18, 1923 in Nitro, WV. She graduated high school there, and went on to attend Business College in Charleston, WV. She was employed as a secretary to the Plant Manager at American Viscose, and married Howard Gandy, who preceded her in death.

Fay relocated to Sarasota, FL in 1968 and married Dan Williams. She worked as a secretary to the bank president at Palmer Bank. She and Dan also built and managed Tall Palms Apartments in Sarasota. After his passing, Fay relocated to Daytona Beach in 1998 to be closer to her family. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Daytona Beach.

She was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Selva Burdette and brothers, Gene and Lew Burdette. She is survived by her brother, Les Burdette and niece, Julie (Mark) Blais of Daytona Beach, sister-in-law, Libby Burdette, nieces, and nephews, Debbie (Steve) Dearien, Beth Burdette Gibson, Mike Burdette, both of WV, and Elaina (Paul) Fontana, Mary Lou (Eric) Wieloszynski, Midge Burdette, and Lewis Kent Burdette al of FL. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, extended family, Lois Escue and Susan Stetler of Daytona Beach and her faithful companion, her schnauzer, Lily.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler; 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129, or to Central Baptist Church of Daytona Beach.
