Farhad (Zar) Zarrinfar, 76, died on August 16, 2026, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Those who knew him best knew him as “Zar.”

Mr. Zarrinfar was educated at Delta College in Michigan and received a BS Degree from California State University, Fresno. He built a life defined by determination, independence, and steady effort. An astute businessman, he spent more than 30 years in the restaurant business as well as other business ventures. He was known as a self-made man who marched to the beat of his own drum, approaching life and work with a strong sense of purpose.

In addition to his business skills, Farhad was recognized for his generosity to those in need. He often offered opportunities to people who were willing to work hard and make something of themselves, and he was quick to acknowledge hard work and encourage it. His giving was often done quietly and humbly, in ways many people never knew about.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ahmad and Nayer Zarrinfar. He leaves behind his three brothers, Farzad (Susan) Zarrinfar, Abbas (Parvin) Zarrinfar, and Farhang Zarrinfar; his longtime companion, Sophia Alfano; his nieces, Brianna (Kelly) O'Neill, Sherazad Zarrinfar, Pamy Zarrinfar; and his nephew, Arian Zarrinfar.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 1:00pm at Daytona Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Farhad Zarrinfar will be deeply missed, and those who knew him hold close the assurance that they will see him again in heaven. Farhad was lovingly remembered to say, "I did it my way."
