Obituary

Everett H. Teare Jr. 85 of Ormond Beach passed away peacefully on Monday January 16 2012. He was born in Cleveland Ohio to Helen and Everett Teare Sr. of Cleveland Heights. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University after serving in the Navy during World War II. Throughout his long career he was responsible for international marketing of commercial earth antennas microwave and satellite products and advanced telecommunication systems. He joined Philco in 1949 and managed marketing for military systems and worked on radar programs while living in several European countries including France Germany and Italy. He married Valerie Klebe in 1958 while living in Washington DC and they moved to Palo Alto CA. During his time as Vice President of International Marketing for Northrop/Page from 1969 to 1974 he traveled extensively to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He worked for General Electric in Daytona Beach as Business Manager of Satellite Communication until 1979. During his job as Vice President of Marketing of Ford Aerospace in PA he traveled to Mexico and other countries. Prior to his retirement he served as Regional Vice President for US West a division of AT&T based in Columbia MD. He has lived in Ormond Beach since 1988 enjoying fishing riding his bicycle volunteering to help with taxes and talking and sharing experiences with his friends at Einstein Bagels on Saturday and Sunday mornings. He had a life-long love of classical music cars and travel including visiting children and grandchildren in California and Virginia. His favorite hobby was talking about cooking and eating good food and was a loyal customer of many favorite local spots. He will be greatly missed by his family for his caring wisdom and guidance great intelligence and sharp wit.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years Valerie Teare; his daughter Roxanne Olsen of Ormond Beach FL; his son Christian Teare of San Diego CA; and his daughter Amy Currin of Vienna VA. Grandchildren include Ben Sechler of St. Petersburg FL; Jackson and Henry Teare of San Diego CA; and Carolyn and Anna Currin of Vienna VA; and one great-grandchild Mason Everett Sechler of St. Petersburg FL.
A celebration of his life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home of Ormond Beach on Thursday January 19 from 4 pm to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his name can be made to Compassion & Choices PO Box 101810 Denver CO 80250.Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
