Obituary

Evelyth Chandler Norman age 86 died Saturday January 5 2008 at Halifax Medical Center. A graveside Service will be held at 2pm at Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassee FL.

Evelyth was born in Richfield Minnesota and moved to the Daytona Beach area from Tallahassee in 1946. She was the original owner and operator of the Daytona Motor Hotel. Very active all her life she was in the DAR and was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Daytona Beach Chapter. She was a past Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and a past "High Priestess" in the Ladies Oriental Shrine.

Evelyth was well known as an avid seamstress and for 15+ years served as the Sewing Committee Chairperson of the Ladies Oriental Shrine making specialized clothing for the Shriner's Hospitals in Greenville SC and Cincinnati OH. She attended University of Tennessee.

A devoted mother grandmother and great grandmother she is survived by her son Glen and daughter-in-law Linda Norman of Port Orange FL; her daughters Betty Norman Bentley and son-in-law Rob Bentley of Jacksonville FL; and Nancy Norman of Norfolk VA; six grandchildren five great grandchildren her two brothers Gilbert S. Chandler Jr. and wife Bridget and Herbert W. Chandler and wife Miff both of Tallahassee FL and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Norma Marr of Tallahassee.

Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32127. A Memorial Service will be at the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Port Orange on Saturday January 12 2008 at 2:30 pm. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
