Evelyn Ward 75 a long-time resident of Deland passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 14 2009. A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 28 2009 at 7:00pm at Christ Community Church 402 West New York Avenue Deland where she was a member. Pastor David Greer will be officiating. Evelyn was born on October 13 1933 in Camden NJ. At a young age her family relocated to Deland where she graduated from Deland High School in 1956. Evelyn retired from the food service department at Deland High School and was also a retired member of the Volusia County Educators Association. In addition she was an active member of her church and enjoyed volunteering with their Angel Food Ministry. Evelyn enjoyed her Bible study reading and visiting with friends. She was predeceased by her brother Lawrence Ward. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Christ Community Church at the above address.
