Evelyn "Evie" Louis Sims age 82 of Deland went home to spend Christmas with our Lord and her husband on Friday December 17 2010. A funeral service in her honor will be held Tuesday December 21 2010 at Deland Church of the Nazarene 913 E. New York Ave. Pastor Peter Migner officiating followed by an interment at Deland Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Monday 12/20/10 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born in Weston West Virginia one of 13 children born to William and Lillie Ables. She dedicated her life in the service of others as a nurse for West Volusia Hospital and at the Church of the Nazarene as a youth group leader choir member missionary president Sunday school teacher and in her own "phone" ministry. She was a loving sweet big hearted gentle woman who enjoyed takeing care of her family and home socializing and gave of herself whenever she could. He soul mate and beloved husband of 64 years William Sims preceded her in death in February and she leaves behind her daughter Pamela L. Sims of Deland a sister Frieda Daniels Lorain OH and Sisters in Law: Cal & Shirley Marcum Deland FL and William & Francis Clark Elyria OH. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Deland.
