Memorial service for Evan "Dick" Moss 90 of Pelican Bay will be held on Monday November 9 at 1100 am in Central Baptist Church. Dick passed away Thursday November 5 in Halifax Medical Center. Born in Red Boiling Springs TN. he moved to this area about 30 years ago. Dick was the former owner of a steel company and retired 20 years ago. Dick was a pilot in the Air Force during 2 wars and retired as a Lt. Colonel after 30 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Pelican Bay Country Club and former member of Halifax River Yacht Club. Dick and his wife of 30 years Carolyn enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home and playing golf. Along with Carolyn survivors include his 3 children; a son Evan R Moss Jr (Dickie) 2 daughters Cecilia Moss and Mary Lou Gordon Carolyn's children; James Ellinor David Ellinor Tom Ellinor and Cindi. Also a surviving are 4 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren 2 step grandchildren and his sister Margaret Vinson. Donations in his memory may be made to Central Baptist Church 142 Fairview Av.
