Evan R. Moss SR "Dick" 90 retired Lieutenant Colonel passed away November 5th 2009. He was born March 30th 1919 in Red Boiling Springs TN to William and Cornell Moss.
After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University he joined the Air Force. He was a pilot and severed his country in two wars. He then spent the next 40 years in the Steel Business resulting in a family run company.
He was an avid golfer and loved all aspects of the outdoors including horseback riding hiking tennis and fishing. He traveled extensively throughout the world. He locally was a member of Central Baptist Church The Pelican Bay Country Club and a former member of The Halifax River Yacht Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn to whom his children are extremely grateful for her devotion and care of their father.
His children Cecilia Moss and fianc Gene York Evan R. Moss Jr. ("Dickie") and wife Suzanne Mary Lou Gordon and husband Gary Grandchildren Evan Moss and wife Tracy David Moss and wife Krista Ryan Lester and Megan Lester Three great grandchildren Step children Jim Ellinor David Ellinor Cindy Ellinor Tom Ellinor and their families sister Margaret Vinson and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday November 9th at 11:00 am at Central Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Central Baptist Church 142 Fairview Ave Daytona Beach Fl 32114.
