Eva Mims
July 23, 1939 - February 23, 2022
Eva graduated from Tyler Union High in 1959.  She started her nursing education by becoming an LNP at Manpower Development & Training Act Program. She started her career in nursing at Nassau County Medical Center, where she became a case manager and furthered her knowledge of diseases, such as AIDS, HIV, and Sickle Cell. She continued her education in liberal arts at SUNY Old Westbury, and after 2 years she transferred to SUNY at Stony Brook, where she received her B.S.N.  She also received many certificates, awards, and letters of recommendation. Eva retired from nursing and relocated to Palm Coast, Florida, where she was a vital member of her church community.
She quietly departed this life on Wednesday February 23, 2022. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Mims; sister, Lizzie Harrison (William); brothers, Willie James Moorer (Rose) and Luckie Moorer (Shirley).
Eva leaves behind her daughter, Omecca Mims; sister, Margaret Ponder; brothers, Cecil Hall (Inell) and Charles Hall; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special cousin, Anna Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.
A service will be held March 5, 2022 at 3pm, at Palm Coast Seventh Day Adventist Church, 5650 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137.
