Eunice
Forrest
Nov 21, 1927 — Apr 20, 2018
Daytona Beach
Eunice C. Forrest passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018. She was born in Roxboro, North Carolina on November 21, 1927 to Martha and Walter Roy Coates. Eunice lived in North Carolina where she worked at Duke University, until 1966 when she moved to Daytona Beach to live with her sister, Marjorie Fuquay, and family. Once in Daytona Beach, she went to work at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where she met and married the love of her life, Col. Frank G. Forrest. They were happily married for 47 years. Upon Frank's retirement they traveled all across the United States including trips to Alaska and Hawaii. She enjoyed boating, fishing, skiing and flying with Frank until his death in 2014. She also took pleasure in playing the piano and loved to play tennis. She competed on the Ormond Beach Racquet Club's tennis team until her early 80's. Eunice and Frank were among the original owners at the Aliki Condominium in Daytona Beach. She loved the Aliki and was an active member of the holiday decorating committee and the welcoming committee. In addition to playing tennis whenever she could, Eunice volunteered as a Sunshine Lady at Peninsula Medical Center, Ormond Beach, and was a member of the Halifax Garden Club. Once she reluctantly stopped playing tennis she joined the Ormond Beach family YMCA where she enjoyed the various group exercise programs. Eunice was predeceased by her loving husband and her beloved sister, who was her best friend forever. She is survived by her devoted nephew and nieces, Tommy Fuquay, Nancy Saufl (Joe) and Susan Voges (Bill), all of Ormond Beach, as well as six great nieces and nephews and their children. The family would like to give a special thanks to Eunice's friend and part-time caregiver, Florence Miller, who assisted her in so many ways as her health declined over the past two years. A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Monday, April 30 th at 4:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive visitors from 3-4 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Eunice's memory to the Ormond Beach Family YMCA; 500 Sterthaus Drive, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Arrangements are under the care of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Condolences for the family may be shared with the family via this online guestbook.
