Memorial services for Eula ?Janie? Utz Johnson 74 of Kenilworth Avenue Ormond Beach a resident since 1993 who died at home September 28 2006 after a long illness will be 1:00pm Thursday October 12 2006 at St. Luke?s Anglican Church 815 Taylor Port Orange FL.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Trevilians Virginia and raised in Gordonsville. She moved to Orlando in 1962 and lived briefly in Haiti. She worked as a secretary in retail sales and had an upholstery business restoring antique furniture. She loved being a homemaker and a grandmother.
She was an avid reader and wrote two illustrated children?s books for her grandchildren whom she adored. Her hobbies also included designing and sewing doll clothes painting and drawing crafts quilting and basket weaving. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star a Pink Lady at Memorial Hospital-Ormond and a hospice volunteer for Hospice of the Rapidan in Virginia.
She had been very active in the Episcopal Church both in Gordonville Virginia and St. James Episcopal in Ormond Beach and had presently been a member of St. Luke?s Anglican Church in Port Orange.
Survivors include her husband of almost 56 years Milton L. Johnson; a daughter April Johnson Briese of Ormond Beach; a son Steven W. Johnson of Winter Park; a brother Carl K. Utz of Novi Michigan; and two grandchildren Airman Travis R. Briese and Amanda K. Briese.
