Eugenia Christie age 62 of Daytona Beach FL went to sleep in the Lord on Tuesday February 3 2009 at her residence. Born Eugenia Christie October 17 1946 in Tallahassee FL to the late Dennis E. and Theodora Christie she was a graduate of both Leon High School in Tallahassee FL and Chipola College in Marianna FL. Eugenia served the Vice-Principal of Winston Churchill High School in Potomac MD for 32 years. Many summers were spent guiding and teaching disabled teenagers in the Montgomery County School Work Program. Eugenia Christie was an avid player of scrabble and bingo. She was very organized and artistic as her talents showed in cross-stitch ceramics and paintings. Her generosity and kindness especially to children will be missed by all who knew her. Eugenia is preceeded in death by her parents and brother-in-law James Bowdren. She is survived by two sisters: Constance and husband John Pavlides and Penelope Bowdren one brother E. Dennis Christie and wife Katherine of Bradenton FL as well as four nephews three nieces four great nieces two great nephews and many friends. Those who knew her loved her. On Sunday February 8 2009 another visitation will take place at the Bevis Funeral Home 2710 N. Monroe St. Tallahassee FL 32303 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral Services for Eugenia will be held Monday February 9 2009 at Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church 1645 Phillips Rd. Tallahassee FL 32308 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Tallahassee alongside her mother and father. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church.
