Obituary

On December 2, 2014, Eugene 'Tate' Tetreault died, surrounded by close friends, after a short illness. Tate, an only child, was born on February 20, 1929.

He was predeceased by his parents, Irene Bushee and Elphege Tetreault. He is survived by his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, son-in-laws, good friends and too many acquaintances to mention.

Tate was one of Manchester's memorable characters. He graduated from BBS in 1947. He spent a number of years racing cars on local dirt tracks and was inducted into the race car hall of fame. After trying a number of jobs he opened 'Tate's Welding & Wrecker Service' and operated it until he retired in 1995. He spent his retirement traveling between Manchester, VT and Port Orange, FL doing his favorite things riding his Harley with his dog, puttering around the house and socializing.

Tate was a real ol' time Vermonter who lived life full throttle right from the get go. He did what he wanted, when he wanted to do it. A celebration of his life will be planned for spring 2015.

Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
