Esther Winn Rowley left this life on earth for her new life in heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ on July 2 2011. She was born on August 1 1920 to Annie Mae and Hilary Fitzhugh Winn in Washington D.C. their third child and only daughter. Her family moved to St. Petersburg Florida when she was 16 and she attended St. Petersburg High School. She graduated from Maryville College (TN) in 1943 and taught school in Virginia for several years.

She met Edward R. Rowley - the love and light of her life at Maryville. They were married in 1945 and moved to Chicago where Ed finished his theological studies. They were called to their first church in Cincinnati Ohio where they started their family. They were blessed with four children.

Throughout her years she juggled the responsibilities of mother to four friend and a minister's wife with a sweet spirit that people were drawn to. She was an engaged and loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was a member of United Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and on many committees. Esther loved her family and friends the beach memorizing Scripture and playing bridge. Esther and Ed had many wonderful trips and cruises together in their seventies which they enjoyed immensely.

She was married to Ed 58 years until his death in 2003. Survivors are daughters Susan Rowley Sharon Vodenicker (John) sons Ned Rowley (Stephanie) and Hilary Rowley (Zelma). Grandchildren: John (Trip) Vodenicker (Kathi); Tracy Vodenicker Stowers (Chris); David Rowley; Michael Rowley; Ashley Brumfield (Michael); Kristopher Rowley; Ashley Ritchie Sada Rowley. Great grandchildren are Elizabeth Vodenicker Anna Vodenicker John Vodenicker IV Megan Stowers Caleb Stowers and Kaila Bellamy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to United Presbyterian Church 730 Beville Road South Daytona Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church South Daytona on Sunday July 10 at 4:00 PM.
