Sister Estella Vincent was born on Feb 4, 1924 to the late Dinah Gunter and Curley Howard. She grew up in Uniontown, AL where she confessed Christ at an early age. She later moved to Bessemer AL. There she joined Friendship Baptist Church. She was a Missionary and an active member until health problems prevented her attendance. She relocated to Palm Coast, FL in 2011 where she resided at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation. While there, she touched the lives of many as the leader of their weekly Bible Study program.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harrison Powell Sr., Grant Caffee, and Norman Vincent; 2 children, Harrison Powell Jr. and Lessie Evans; 2 sisters and 3 brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory; 2 sisters-Elizabeth Lewis Kenner, LA and Maggie Jackson Newark, NJ; 2 brothers McKlan Howard Manchester, CT and Walter James Howard Savannah, GA; 2 sons-Napoleon Jerry Howard (Tanya) Bowie MD and David Caffee Bessemer AL; 7 daughters-Lily Powell Stone Mtn. GA, Harrietta Phillips (William) Detroit MI, Doris Cook (Eddie) Margaret AL, Dinah Powell Margaret AL, Mary Caffee Cook (Bernard) Palm Coast, FL, Odella Caffee Palm Coast, FL, and Tracie Caffee Birmingham AL); 41 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Sister Estella was known for her beautiful smile, calm spirit and unwavering faith in God. She will be dearly missed. The Memorial Service is scheduled for Sat February 21st 12 noon at Friendship Baptist Church 709 12th. St. N. Bessemer, AL 35020. Reverend Cornilius Harris officiating. Florida arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.
