Estel ?Bud? Garrett 68 of Ormond Beach passed away on Wednesday September 27 2006. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday October 5 2006 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 am -11 am. Burial to follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Bud was born on February 8 1938 in Gibson County Indiana but spent his adult life in Maryland. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Bud was a loyal and accomplished Electrical Mechanic who retired from the Potomac Electric Power Company ?PEPCO? after 38 years. A former athlete he gave back to his community by coaching sports in the Beltsville Boys & Girls Club. He and his wife Judy retired to Florida two years ago from Maryland. Bud was a member of Tomoka United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge in Ormond Beach. He found his passion late in life training service dogs for the handicapped. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. His sense of humor love of a good story and charming dimpled smile will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Judy of Ormond Beach; daughters Kim Garrett of San Jose CA; Lisa Garrett of Joppa MD; Son Doug Garrett of Huntingtown MD; mother Lillian Garrett of Salem OR.; sisters Patricia Pearson and Shirley Parker of Oregon. Proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Nicholas Natalie Nathaniel Jacob Jordan Keith and Carleigh.
