Essie Pendergrass age 89 of South Daytona passed away in her home on Sunday March 15 2009. Essie was born in Bristol Virginia to Charley Byrd and Nanny Rebecca Marie Cullop Neal. She dedicated her life as a devoted wife mother and grandmother and enjoyed fishing gardening making you smile and spending time with her family. She will best be remembered for her wonderful talents in the kitchen especially her chicken dressing and chicken and dumplings. Her beloved husband of 67 years Fredrick Pendergrass preceded her in death in 2003 but she leaves behind to cherish her memory her 3 children: Kenneth Pendergrass; Wayne Pendergrass and his wife Peggy and Betty Carroll and her husband Charles all of South Daytona and 4 grandchildren.
