Funeral Service for Ernest Johnson age 80 of South Street Oak Hill FL will be held on Thursday August 3 2006 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The family will receive friends before the service at 10:00 AM with the burial to follow in Daytona Memorial Park. Ernest passed away on Saturday July 29 2006 in his own home with his family beside him knowing that he was deeply loved. He was born on May 10 1926 to Ernest and Lola Davis Johnson in Oakdale TN where he spent most of life before moving to the Daytona Beach area. He served in the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW union where he worked for the Space Center in Titusville FL. On November 29 1980 he married Vera Steinkamp and has spent the last 25 years loving her and his family. Ernest had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. The Tennessee Vols football team was a favorite of his to watch as were the Orlando Magic basketball team. He is survived by his loving wife Vera 2 daughters; Becky BO Mack of Ormond Beach FL and Christina Jessy of Oak Hill FL. A sister Lena Slate of Ormond Beach FL and 5 grandchildren.
