On February 7, 2026, Eric Mitchell Paul Hoffman (61) of Osteen, Florida, passed from this life after a brief illness. His beloved canine companion, Daisy, was by his side throughout it all.

Eric was born on September 18, 1964 in Syracuse, New York to Marvin and Robin (Poetash) Hoffman. Known as a man of many words, deep conviction and kindness, Eric lived by the tenets of family, friends, faith, and country. A 1982 graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High School, he worked in the energy and construction industries.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Eric served aboard the USS Bainbridge in the late 1980s. Though his travels took him many places, he forever carried fond memories of his childhood in DeWitt, New York.

A man of many talents - from beer brewing to mastering BBQ to nature photography - Eric delighted in creating and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family.

Eric is survived by his beloved daughter, Felicia Hoffman; his mother, Robin Hoffman; sisters, Razelle (Colby) Contois and Sharon (Scott) Cole; brother, Adam Hoffman; many adored nieces and nephews; his aunt, Lana Hoffman; cousins he considered bonus siblings, especially his lifelong buddy, Robert Hoffman; and many dear friends, including Rick Vanord and Jeff Miller. He is also survived by his former wife Diana Barch, the mother of his child.

Eric was predeceased by his father, Marvin; and his cherished canine companion, Roscoe.

The best way to honor Eric's memory is to speak boldly, love fiercely, and take care of each other. Fair winds and following seas, Sir. We have the watch.
