Eric Allen Erickson 84 went home to the Father on Sunday May 29 2011 after suffering from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Eric was born on January 8 1927 in New York N.Y. At age 17 he dropped out of high school to join the U. S. Navy continued his education after discharge from the service and began his teaching career. He met his future wife Joan in 1946 and they were married in 1951. They settled in Pleasantville N. Y. where they raised their two children. Eric taught in the Yonkers school system first as an Industrial Arts instructor and later as a guidance counselor. He retired to Florida in 1986 first to Orange City and later to Hidden Hills in DeLand. Eric is survived by his wife of almost 60 years a son Greg (Patricia) and daughter Lee (Mark Prebilic) and two grandchildren Carlynne and Gavin. His sister Natalie Barden predeceased him but left her six children behind to support and cherish their "Uncle Al". Eric's warmth and humor will be missed by all who knew him. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Thursday June 2 at 10:00am.
