Emma M Sipes, 85, of Summertrees, peacefully passed at her home February 1 st , 2018. Emma was born in Mckees Rocks, Pennsylvania and moved to this area in 2007 from St. Petersburg, Florida, where she retired from the Pinellas County School District. She loved football, the Steelers, Tampa Bay, loved animals (she had 3 cats), loved her gardening and loved spending precious time with her family, especially watching the great grandchildren playing their sports. Emma was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church where she enjoyed spending time with the Lady Quilters and the Bible Study Groups. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love and the peace and love that would await her after passing. She was married for 49 years to the love of her life, Bob, who passed away February 2, 2002. Survivors include her much loved sister, Olga Bednar of Pittsburgh and god son Glenn Bednar. She had three daughters, Susan Stroehlen of Port Orange, Bobbie (Jim) Chapas of Mars, PA and Stacey Sipes (Dave) of Bangor, PA. Emma had two grandchildren, Jon Stroehlen, Jr. (Mindie), Samantha Stroehlen: four great grandchildren, Brant, Jon III, Abigail and Chase. A Celebration of Life Service will be held March 3 rd at 10:00 am at the Covenant United Church, 3701 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL. Donations can be made to Warner Christian Baseball or United Methodist Church.
