Emil Detke 82 passed away January 22 2012. He came to America in 1952 settling in Cleveland Ohio. Emil was a self-made man transitioning from a tool and dye maker to the long time owner of the Lynn Scott Lee Motel. Besides the love for his wife and family he was an avid gardener and had the ability to make people laugh and smile wherever he met them. He was the beloved husband of Anna Detke for 62 beautiful years. Emil was the loving father to the late Siegfried (Jan) Detke Sigrid (Rick) Straka Eleanor Detke and Heidi Detke. He is survived by his grandchildren; Angela (Dave) Johnson Mark (Julie) Straka Jeff (Mandy) Straka Karl and Kyle Detke Gregory and Alexander Schroeder and Gretchen Thomassy. Emil also leaves behind his great-granddaughter Willow Johnson. A visitation in his honor will be held on Friday January 27 2012 from 10:00 A.M until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange. Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted but donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
