Funeral Services for Elton ?Lee? Hughes 68 of Port Orange who died on January 23 2008 will be held at 2 pm Sunday January 27 at the Port Orange Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday and from 12 to 2 pm on Sunday. Lee was born March 15 1939 to the late John and Virginia Hughes in Clare County Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Midway until being honorably discharged. Lee was employed by the News Journal for 14 years where he worked as District Manager. He was an avid collector of trains enjoyed antiquing sailing fishing and he loved the ocean. He lived here for 25 years. Of all the things he enjoyed in life Lee?s greatest passion was for his family who loved him dearly. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife and confidante of 37 years Jacqueline; sons Scott and Jacob; grandchildren Angela Jackie Joshua Amanda Justin Stephanie Chris and Nick; his brother and sisters; David (Sandy) Trudy Vicki Sue (Larry Johnson) Karen and Christy Aunt Betty Hughes (Jay dec); Aunt June Hughes (Arnold dec) Aunt Helen Moyer (Ralph dec) Uncle Leo Bischoff (Bernadine dec); many beloved cousins nieces and nephews of a large extended family and many dear friends.
