Obituary

Elsie Owens Lewis 79 of Daytona Beach lost her battle with cancer at home on Friday May 28 2005 surrounded by her loving family. A homemaker Elsie was born in Fallston MD to Stanley and Elsie Wheat. Elsie had 4 sisters and 3 brothers and moved to Daytona Beach in the 1960s.
Elsie worked at Bel-Air Bowling Lanes where she was in a bowling league for over 20 years with her bowling buddies Millie Jean Phil and May. Elsie also worked at Tomoka Oaks Country Club where she met her husband Eric.
Elsie and Eric opened the first clubhouse at Spruce Creek Fly-In. She enjoyed golf crafts car racing and writing to family and friends on her computer. Granny was very proud of her grandchildren Ryan Vanessa Poppie and Nicky. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Eric Lewis in March 2004. She is survived by her 4 daughters Jeannetta Arlene Loretta and Sheila; 3 sons Gene Jimmy Robert and 14 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and son-in-law Nick who was at her side. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129.
