Shane Barney June 29,1966- June 15, 2024

Elliot M Barney and Connie Heaps Mott welcomed their first baby boy into this world on June 29,1966. He was born with the most handsome blonde hair and green eyes you would ever see. He was such a good baby; he never cried and always woke up happy and was loving to everyone he would see. This set the tone for his beautiful life.

In 1971 he became part of a blended family and not only had his little brother Shaun but gained his Dad, Donald B Mott and two more brothers Steve and David. The 4 boys were always on a mission when they were together. Shane was the peacemaker of the bunch and boy did he have his work cut out for him at times with his rowdy brothers!

Shane began his passion for art at age 4 where he would draw for hours. From the time we can remember he was a total Sci-Fi genius. He was the absolute biggest fan of Star Trek. He owned every piece of merchandise that ever came out. He probably watched every episode and movie at least a thousand times each. These two passions never died.

In 1984 he married his High School Sweetheart Tami Layton and shortly after joined the United States Airforce. He spent 10 years being stationed at Travis Airforce Base in California. He was a proud veteran and worked hard for our great country. During this time his precious daughters were born, Mandi Michelle and Melissa Katherine. They were the light of their Daddy's world. As he watched his girls grow up, taking pride in all they were accomplishing and the people they were becoming, he decided to pursue his dream of being an artist and worked on his skills. He made beautiful hand drawn portraits that he lovingly gave to people, and everyone was in awe of his incredible talent.

Later in life he went back to school. He graduated with his associate degree in graphic art from Utah Career College in 2002. He became a full-time digital artist designing the most intricate graphics for computer games at Tru Golf. He was held in high regard by his supervisor and his colleagues.

In 2016 Shane married his soul mate and absolute love of his life Andrea Leon. Since then, they went on a journey full of love and fun adventures. Spending every year on their anniversary in Key West and falling more in love with the East coast in 2023 they decided to make the move from Utah to create their forever home in Deltona Florida. Next to Key West Shane loved Saint Augustine and the little town of Mount Dora. He looked forward to his Saturdays with Andrea as they went on adventures riding bikes, visiting new areas, going to festivals, and watching sunsets. He enjoyed spending time in his swim spa in the back yard and loved their dogs who he referred to as his boys. He enjoyed theme parks, roller coasters, and a good beer or two with his brothers. Shane loved his life. He was one to admire for always finding the bright side in every situation. His smile was illuminating and his laugh contagious. He was generous in loving and serving his family and people he cared for.

Shane died peacefully at home on June 15, 2024, at the age of 57. He leaves behind his loving wife Andrea, daughter, Mandi (Paul) along with grandchildren Makaya, 13 and Aiden, 6. He also leaves his daughter, Melissa (Tyler), and grandchildren Blake, 9, Damien, 6 and Gabriel, 11.
He also leaves his bonus kids who he came to love as his own: Jenn (Terry), with grandchildren Parker, 19, and Taylor, 15; Dave (Amber), with grandchild Karter, 11; and Martin, with grandchildren Kasen, 14 and Kaiya, 9. He also leaves his mother, Connie Mott. His Father Elliot Barney, brothers Steve (Regan), Shaun (Penny) and Sister Traci.

Shane was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his brother David Mott, and his father, Donald B. Mott.

Shane was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, son, son in law, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will take place on Shane's Birthday, June 29, 2024. The place and time will be determined later.
