Mrs. Ellen Giannone (ne Polchinski) of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the age of 72.

Ellen was born to Joseph and Alice Polchinski on May 30, 1942 in Bronx, NY. She grew up as the eldest of five, and in 1959, she married Frank Giannone. After a brief few years in Pittsburgh, Ellen and Frank move back to Queens, NY and then to Brentwood, Long Island where they raised their 4 children.

Ellen was extremely active in the local school district for all of her children and was PTA President for several years. She was team mother to countless Brentwood football, lacrosse, baseball and basketball teams as well as many Little League teams when the children were younger. Ellen was highly sought after as a substitute school teacher in Brentwood since she knew so many of the children so well and organized many after school activities for the students.

Ellen's family has received countless well wishes, prayers and words of love from friends and families with whom her children were raised all expressing their fond memories of Ellen and her work and devotion to them along with her own children. The family would like to acknowledge these special words and love and assure all they will be treasured by her family forever.

Ellen is survived by her sons, Stephen and David, and grandchildren, Christopher, Jake, Ciara, Alexa and Rhys. She is preceded in passing by a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Kathryn, as well as our beloved angel son and grandson, Liam. She is also survived by her brother, Michael, and sisters, Veronica, Ginger and Patricia.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Respects and visitation will be open from 1 to 5 p.m.
