Ellen Louise Connor 84 of Daytona Beach passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 12 2010. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Leonard. A 4:00 visitation and a 5:30 funeral service in her honor will be held Friday February 19 2010 at the Baggett and Summers Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Homes with Rev. Vonshelle Beneby officiating.
Ellen was born November 12 1925 to William Barrett and Mary Brillhart and raised in Wausau Oh. After marrying the love of her life and moving to Long Island for seven years they relocated to Daytona Beach in 1958 to raise their family.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 1 F.C.E. Extension Club was a volunteer at the Conklin Blind Center Library typing Braille books and worked as a secretary for many years before retiring.
Ellen enjoyed cooking family meals and was known for her chocolate chip cookies. She was an excellent seamstress and made all her own clothes as well as quilts she would then donate to Boggy Creek. She enjoyed cruising with Leonard as well as the family cruises. Ellen had many talents with another one of them being woodworking. She had a deep love for her family and will dearly be missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. Her smile was contagious.
Left behind to cherish the memories of times spent with her are her 4 children: Jim Connor (Bev) Nancy Gewand (Jim) Mary Connor Paul Connor (Tia). 8 Grandchildren: Travis Connor Dr. Michael (Dr. Jeanmarie) Connor Katie Gewand Jackie Gewand Kimberlee (Bryan) Lambert Kyle Wolfersteig Brittany and Chelsea Connor. 3 Great Grandchildren: Jade Jessica and Chase Connor and 2 sisters: Elizabeth Cocks and Martha McCrea and their families.
