Elizabeth Ann Smith-Dark, January 25, 1941-June 22, 2015

On January 25, 1941, Joseph Sisack and Bertha (Kuchinski) Sisack had a little girl that was named Elizabeth Ann. Betsy spent her early years in Dupont, PA where Dad worked in the coal mines. The Sisack family moved to Edison, NJ as Betsy was becoming a teenager. As a teenager, Betsy worked in a local A&P market. After high school, Betsy married and moved to MA. In MA, Betsy worked as an office manager for an electrical contractor for 20 years. During this time she raised a daughter and son.

Betsy had a brother, Joseph; he and his wife Carol live in Old Bridge, NJ. While in Holliston, Betsy became an active member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. On June 6, 1998, Betsy married William A. Dark at St. Michael's and moved to Uxbridge, MA. On April 18, 2000, Betsy and Bill purchased a home in Magnolia Village in Edgewater, FL. The first 2 or 3 years, Betsy and Bill were snowbirds. They then made a decision to live in FL year round, even though Betsy did not like the heat and humidity in the summer.

Betsy became very active with the social events in Magnolia Village. To pursue her love of gardening, Betsy became on March 6, 2003, a Florida Master Gardener from the University of Florida extension service. In this capacity, Betsy developed and presented a 5 day course given one day a week at local Volusia County libraries called, "GARDENING FLORIDA STYLE" A great joy in Betsy's life was when her son Scott and his wife Lauri adopted a little girl from Russia. This little 14 month old girl was named NATALIA ELIZABETH.

In January of 2014, it was found Betsy had cancer of the pancreas. Betsy put up a fight with the help of many wonderful people. On June 15th Betsy went to Halifax Health Hospice Care Center in Edgewater. On June 22nd the LORD called Betsy home.
