Elizabeth (Joan) Mullen was granted her angel wings on September 14th 2011 after a long battle with heart disease. Her heart was full of love and caring for others but that heart was also tired and needed to rest in the end. She passed away while at her home in Palm Coast Florida.

Born in McLean Illinois on August 17th 1937 she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alice Necessary. She was the youngest of three children. On February 23rd 1967 she married her loving husband and best friend Dale L. Mullen who survives her.

She spent most of her life in Morton Illinois where she attended Morton High School in 1955 and later graduated from Browns Business School (later named Midstate College). She retired in Palm Coast Florida where she was Treasurer of the Palm Coast Woman's Club and was a co-leader of multiple bridge clubs.

Her interests included bridge golf bowling fishing and charity work. She also enjoyed spending time at her niece's lake house in the Ozarks as well as traveling across the US to visit family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters Jackie Mullen of Tallahassee Florida; her daughter and son-in-law Jenny and Shaun O'Donnell of Ponte Vedra Beach Florida and her only grandchild Avery Elizabeth O'Donnell.
Joan will be remembered for her kind generous caring spirit and her love of family.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday October 7 2011 in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast. The family will be receiving friends from 1-2:00 P.M. (Prior to the Service) on Friday October 7 2011 at the Funeral Home.
