Elizabeth Snead Lemley (83), Liz was born January 4, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and returned home October 18, 2013 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Liz was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, graduated from North Side High School, and attended Indiana University. While at Indiana University, Liz was a member of Alpha Z Delta Sorority and president of the pledge class in 1948-1949. She then met William M. Lemley, whom she married in December 1950. They had two daughters, and the young family moved to Florida in the 1950s. Later in life, Liz returned to school and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Florida Atlantic University the same year her eldest daughter graduated from high school. She went on to earn her Master's Degree from the University of Central Florida and a Specialist's degree from Nova University.

Liz taught all ages, from preschool to graduate school. She was president of the Volusia County English Teachers' Association, a Girl Scout Leader and camp director, member of Eastern Star, and active member of the Port Orange Presbyterian Church, President of Woodside Condos, and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Florida Fidelis Zeta Chapter. She loved to travel, camp, and spend time at her summer lake house. Liz loved to play bridge and tennis as well as spend precious time with her friends and family.

Liz was predeceased by her parents, ex-husband William M. Lemley, her sister, MaryLou Alexander, and her youngest daughter, Denise Elizabeth Murray. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Browne Lemley of Tallahassee, Florida, nephews,Steve Alexander of South Miami, and Stuart R. Alexander of Brighton, New York, granddaughters, Jenifer Linton (Jeff) of Daytona Beach, Floirda, Carole Lemley of Tallahassee, Florida, and Elizabeth Paige Nace (Del) of Hiram, Georgia, great-grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua, and Jane Elizabeth Linton and Arianna and Erika Nace, her caregiver and cousin, Mary Jane Coker of Port Orange, Florida, and Carlee Witt of Oakland, Florida.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Port Orange Presbyterian Church on Clyde Morris, with a small reception following the service. Rev. Calvin Gittner will be officiating. There will not be a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Liz's name to the Arthritis Foundation, Alzhelmer's Association, or Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
