Elizabeth A. Gabriel 78 of South Daytona passed away November 23 2011 peacefully with her family by her side at Halifax Hospice Port Orange. She was born in Scranton Pennsylvania to Dr. Peter and Eileen Vale then moved to Volusia County in 1954 with the love of her life. Elizabeth was a member of The Basilica of St. Paul's for over 40 years and was a member of the St. Paul's Women's Club. She enjoyed walking swimming and all types of exercising reading and most importantly watching the Florida Gators play football. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 59 years James P. Gabriel a daughter Susan (John) Donigan sons James (Julie) Gabriel of Port Orange and Peter (Nancy) Gabriel of South Daytona Mark (Elvia) Gabriel of Port Orange seven grandchildren; Lisa Alexander Joni Averett Garrett Donigan Samuel Gabriel Patrick Gabriel Isabella Gabriel and Ethan Gabriel four great grandchildren Collin and Layne Alexander and Gabriel and Olivia Averett. She is preceded in death by her parents and Sister Joan F. Gerner. The family wished to say a special thank you to Dr. Richard Weiss and Staff as well as Dr. Bunnell and staff. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
