Elizabeth "Betty" M. Desteno (Boehm)

Elizabeth (Betty) M. Desteno , age 97 passed away peacefully on January 7 th 2023 at Home Sweet Home, ALF in Palm Coast, Florida. Betty was born on April 30 th 1925 in Jersey City, NJ where she was raised and fell in love with her beloved ocean at the Jersey Shore .

Betty is predeceased by her cherished parents William and Elizabeth Boehm, loving husband Maurice Desteno, beloved cousins Harriet and husband John F isher, William and wife Florence Mehl, Bertram and wife Phyllis Beaupre.

She was the last of "The Cuzzins" in this very close and adventurous family . They would all gather together each summer at the shore to share love , laughter and a bit of mischief whenever they could . Without fail, they would go each year and spen d the summers in Beach Haven , NJ , North Carolina , along with their grand trip to Bermuda.

Betty was s trong in her faith , extremely determined as well as being a kindhearted and a generous woman. She had a great sense of humor, quick wit and enormously caring heart for many who called her a true F riend , adopted Mom and Fairy God Mother . You could talk to her about anything and everything. She loved to travel , go to broadways shows as well as dance the night away with friends and family at the local Yacht C lub of Palm Coast.

After 30 years of a n extremely successful career at General Foods/ K raft H einz , she moved from Old Tappan, NJ to Palm Coast, Florida in 1993 where she made numerous friends and continued to enjoy her beloved "Beach Life" . She leaves behind her cousins' children, their children and many friends who all miss her very much .

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on May 6, 2023 at S T Mark By the Sea Lutheran Church , in Palm Coast , Fl .
