Elizabeth (Liz) Butts 88- June 5 1920-April 16 2009 of Port Orange passed away on April 16 2009 at Volusia/Flagler Hospice Care Center in Port Orange. Liz moved to Florida in 1991 from Woodlyn Pennsylvania and spent the last four years at Sandalwood Nursing Center. Liz spent her early years as a homemaker and mother to four children. In 1969 upon losing her son Gary in Vietnam she dedicated the rest of her life to charity work for the Vietnam Veterans by serving on the sate and national levels of the American Gold Star Mothers. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW. Liz was preceded by her husband Ray in 2007 and her son Gary in 1969. She will be greatly missed by her son Taylor Miles of Aston Pa two daughters Iris Wilson of Port Orange and Lois Boatwright of Deland: five grand children and eleven great grandchildren.
