Beloved mother and friend, Elizabeth Brandon-Brown, aged 75, passed away on July 14, 2023. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada June 12, 1948 to Frank Edward Brandon and Ivy Coralie Brandon, her family moved to Ormond Beach, Florida when she was 2 years old. Elizabeth graduated from Mainland High School and earned her B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida where she met her beloved husband and soulmate Frank W. Brown. The two were married in 1969 and welcomed their cherished daughter Elizabeth Shannon Pennett in 1972. They had many adventures in their early years together and traveled the country and the world, including moves to Australia and California before settling down in the Washington D.C. suburbs of Reston, VA. Elizabeth was an award-winning journalist during her tenure at the Washington Business Journal in the early 1980s and in 1983, she was one of five women to take a company public.  She went back and obtained her law degree from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University in Washington D.C. in 1992. She practiced corporate and securities law in the D.C. area as well as California and Florida until her retirement. Elizabeth was a lifelong animal lover and a member of the Daytona Beach Obedience Club where she had many friends and enjoyed competing with her adored dogs Max and Zoe. She loved nature and the beauty of our local area and enjoyed walking with her daughter Shannon and her dogs each morning along the River. Travel was always in her blood and there was never a trip she wasn't up for with family and friends. She visited 6 out of 7 continents and she always said her most memorable trip was to Egypt with Shannon. She is predeceased in death by her mother and father Frank & Ivy Brandon and husband Frank Brandon-Brown and is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Shannon Pennett, son Jon R. Pennett, brother, Gerald T. Brandon and many beloved cousins. She lived her life to the fullest every day and was an amazing life force, generous, loving and intelligent and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
