Elizabeth "Betty' Flynn Kromberg was born in Newark, NJ on January 7, 1921, and died peacefully on May 1, 2014 in Palm Coast, Fl. Her parents were John L.McKenna and Ruth Mae Powell McKenna.
The family moved to NY where she graduated from Far Rockaway High School and Katherine Gibbs School in NY. She married Edward B. Flynn June 7, 1941. They had 5 children: Edward, Rosanne, Peter, James and William. Betty, her husband and children moved to Hewlett, Long Island in 1954. Her family always came first but she also found the time and energy to be a Girl Scout and Club Scout leader, president of Hewlett H. S, P.T.A. She was involved in politics, and community work. Education was very important to her and she made sure all her children had the opportunity to go to college. She went back to school herself and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York in 1979.
Betty was a licensed real estate broker and certified real estate appraiser. In 1974 she married Monte Kromberg and in 1984 they moved to Palm Coast, Florida keeping busy by playing tennis, bridge, boating, traveling and all the activities she never had time for before. Her family always came first - Betty cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and would always be thinking of them. They just made her smile. Her family is very thankful to all the people who cared for and loved her including the care takers at the Windsor and Vitas Hospice Care. Donations in her memory can be made to Hospice or any charity of your choice.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, Fl 32164 at 11:00, Monday, May 12, 2014. Arrangements are in the Care of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast. Condolences may be shared with the family
