Eleanor Maidhof 75 of Palm Coast FL. passed away May 31 2011 surrounded by her family. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday June 4 2011 from noon to 2 pm at The Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW Palm Coast FL. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday June 6 2011 at 10 am at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy Palm Coast FL. Eleanor was born in New York and moved to Florida in 1975. She retired from First Union Bank in 1993. Eleanor loved her Church St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and gladly gave her time and talents to support so many of their programs. She also enjoyed sewing and made many of the costumes for the church plays. After her first cancer diagnosis in 2000 her passion was to share her story to help others fighting the disease. She was an avid supporter of the Flagler Relay for Life and enjoyed reading gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her high school sweet heart and husband of 55 years Norman Maidhof of Palm Coast sons Rob Maidhof (Rhonda) of Broomfield CO Will Maidhof (Melissa) of Clermont FL daughters Deb Walker (Greg) of Holly Hill FL Sue McGee (Garrison) of Spruce Pine NC sisters Marilyn Grossman of Palm Coast FL and Alice Cusick of Tarrytown NY. She was also the loving grandmother to four grandchildren Ryan Will Max and Cara. Donations in Eleanor's name may be made to the American Cancer Society 1737 N.
