Elaine White (nee Saraydar) born 07-28-1929 to Harry & Pauline Saraydar in Brooklyn NY passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side on 08-09-2010 while visiting family and friends in Phoenix AZ. A memorial gathering is on Aug 20th 5-8 P.M. at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. A funeral mass will be Aug 21 11 A.M. at the Basilica of St. Paul Daytona Beach.

Elaine and her brother Jerry grew up in the same neighborhood where she met the love of her life Donald J. White Sr. while he was visiting relatives. They married in 1950 and moved to Florida ultimately settling in Daytona Beach.
While raising six children Elaine returned to school to pursue a degree in Education. She graduated from Stetson University and began her career with Volusia County schools in 1969 earning a Masters of Education and Guidance from Stetson in 1974. Elaine proudly served Volusia schools until her retirement in 1995 with her happiest years as a guidance counselor at Sugar Mill Elementary.
After seeing their children grow and prosper Elaine and Don were able to travel the world visiting China Japan Thailand the British Isles Europe Canada Hawaii Scandinavia and Russia.
Although she proudly raised loved and cared for six children her true love and soul mate was her husband Don who predeceased her by 18 months. Theirs was a love story genuine and real. Elaine and Don are survived by six children: Donald J. White Jr. (Linda); Kathleen (Chris) Linton; Debbie (Gary) Miller; Teresa (Michael) Auch; Kevin White (Christine); and Kelly White (Wendy) as well as eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
