E. J. "Joe" Koestner Jr. 96 of Holly Hill FL passed away peacefully on September 8 2012 at Bishop Glen Retirement Center Holly Hill. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday September 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Shady Rest Cemetery Holly Hill.
E. J. Koestner was the founding director of the Dayton Museum of Natural History. "Joe was a wonderful human being who inspired both kids and adults with his love of the natural sciences. When he retired in 1986 after 32 years he was named Director Emeritus for his work at the Dayton Museum of Natural History. He was presented with an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Dayton in 1986. He is survived by his personal friend Matthew Valiquette of Salt Lake City Utah.
