A Celebration of Life for Edward L. Sharpe 91 of Daytona Beach who passed away on July 16 2007 at his residence will be held Saturday August 11 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Chapel 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Chaplain Bob Kicklighter with Hospice of Volusia/Flager will be officiating. Edward was born May 22 1916 in Irvine Kentucky. Edward served in the South Pacific Theatre in the U.S. Army during WW II. Edward first started his career working for his brother Vernon at Sharpe's Groceries in Kentucky and later held positions as a Bank Examiner for the State of Kentucky Park Manager for Carter Caves and Manager of Blue Diamond Coal Company all in Kentucky. He enjoyed golf tennis and traveling especially cruise vacations. He was an avid sports fan following all Kentucky sporting events. He loved to be in the company of his family his many friends and especially pretty women. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his many close family and friends. He is survived by a sister Lutie Sharpe Azevedo; Nieces and Nephews Vernon Azevedo Winchester KY; Mary Margaret Collier Brentwood TN; Lu Anne Franklin Paris KY; Elizabeth Jean "Jonnie" Allesandro Sacramento CA; Mary Virginia Nott Phoenix AZ; as well as his close friends Kitty Atkinson Flagler Beach FL Bonnie Keating Daytona Beach and Jill Vargas Oviedo FL and . He was predeceased by his son Jimmy Sharpe and his wife Margaret Sharpe. Memorial donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler or to the American Cancer Society.
