Edward J. Roberts, 72, of Port Orange, passed away on February 18, 2017 at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He was born on July 31, 1944 in Brighton, Massachusetts to the late Edward and Betty Roberts. He moved to this area in 1950 and attended Mainland High School and then served his country in the US Army. Edward retired after 26 years as a Line Crew Foreman for the New Smyrna Beach Utilities Commission. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union 756. He enjoyed fishing, boating and Nascar racing. A Graveside service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday March 9, 2017 at Daytona Memorial Park.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Brenda; daughter, Monica (Robert) Alkire of South Daytona ; son, Joseph Roberts of Port Orange; brother, James (Caroline) Roberts of Port Orange; sister, Rene' Boivin of Pierson; two grandchildren, Edward Alkire and Danielle Roberts; three Great Grandchildren; cousin, Richard Roberts of Coral Springs and numerous nieces and nephews.
