Edward J. Pernicka, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2023 at home in Daytona Beach, Florida at the age of 90.

Edward is survived by his children; Edward J. Pernicka, Jr. (Karen), Lynn Abbasi (Mike), Larry Pernicka (Lisa), and Donna Bouchard (Scott). He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann, and his brother, Louis.

Ed was born May 4, 1932 in Berwyn, Illinois where he resided until joining the Air Force in August 1949 at the tender age of 17. He served honorably for 3 years as a flight engineer on C47's supporting the Berlin Airlift.

Upon separation from service, Ed worked for a short time as a mechanic for West Town bus company and TWA. Working for others wasn't for Ed so he started a successful plumbing and heating business in the 60's. Opting for a warmer climate, Ed took his skills to Daytona Beach where he spent his years running several plumbing businesses and real estate ventures until retirement.

Ed liked to work on his truck, fix things, relax by his pool, and spend time with family and friends. He will be missed by all whose lives he has touched.
