Edward R. Kovacs, 86 of Edgewater, Florida passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017. He was born in New York City on June 26, 1930 the son of the late Thomas and Marie (Hewes) Kovacs,and was educated and raised in Yonkers, New York. Edward served with the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on January 27, 1953. After returning home he met and married Adrienne Tardella who predeceased him in 2009. Together they moved to Shrub Oak, New York where they raised their family, they moved to Edgewater Florida in 1996.
Edward is survived by his children, Edward (Tracy), Lorraine (Alexander), and Sandra (Randal), four Grandchildren, Christian, Edward, Ashley and Michele, and two Great Grandchildren Jaxon and Adrianna.
His hobbies were his pigeons, gun collecting and hunting He loved his family and was cherished by them.
He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #137, out of Briarcliff Manor, NY.
Funeral Services will be Thursday February 2, at 11:00 AM from the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange, with a viewing on Wednesday February 1st from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow the Service at Daytona Memorial Park, Daytona Beach.
