A Funeral Service for Edward G. Gentile Sr. 91 of Ormond Beach who passed away on Tuesday June 10 2008 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House will be held at 11:00am Friday June 13 2008 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach FL 32174. The family will receive friends on Thursday June 12 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Born in the Bronx NY on August 15 1916 to Michael & Julia Gentile Edward was a retired operating engineer for Transit Mix Concrete Co. in New York City and was a 70 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15 NYC NY. After retiring in 1978 he became the pro shop manager at Heritage Hills Country Club NY. He loved to dance and sing and was an avid NY Giant and Yankee fan along with being a former member of the Knight of Columbus. Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years Tini of Ormond Beach; his sons: Edward Jr & his wife Anita of Ormond Beach and Kenneth & his wife Sue Ann of Vermont; his sisters: Edith Pezzello & Lena Margro; six grandchildren: Edward III Kenneth Ted Christine Tina & Michael and ten great-grandchildren.
