Edward "Ed" Fay, 85, of Deltona, Florida, a retired Operations Superintendent with Contel, passed away peacefully at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City, FL.
Ed was born October 22, 1930 in Brighton, Massachusetts to Joseph and Martha (Keenan) Fay.
He heroically served his country in the US Marine Corps where he rose to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart as well as other awards and citations. Ed was an All- Star Hockey Goalie in his youth and excelled in Racquetball, he went on to teach at the YMCA in Deland. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, coached football, and umpired baseball and softball in Virginia and Florida.
Ed and his wife Sunee relocated to Volusia County in 1986 from Vermont.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sunee of Deltona, his son Joseph "Joe" Fay and his wife Mary of Hollywood, Maryland, a brother, Richard Fay and his wife Kathleen of Deltona, two grandchildren Nathan and Jed Fay and a step-grandson Matthew Clem.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21st from 3-5pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 1681 Providence Blvd. Deltona. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, March 24th at Deland Memorial Gardens.
