Edward (Eddie) Pierce passed away Saturday January 3 at Halifax Medical Center. Service will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange Wednesday January 7 2009 at 5pm with a visitation from 3pm to 5 pm.
Eddie was born in Hanna Oklahoma in August 1941 and moved to Port Orange in the late 1960's. Eddie is survived by his loving wife Susan J. Pierce of Port Orange also his mother in law Helen Huckle Miller; sisters and brother in law Margaret Hudson Sherry and Bud Press and Terry and Maria Huckle.
Eddie was a Vietnam War Veteran and served in the US Army. He was a Life Member of The American Legion Post 270. Eddie served as commander finance officer adjutant and 17th District Commander during his many years of service at the Post.
Eddie was a very devoted member and truly found friendship and purpose at the American Legion. Prior to his retirement Eddie worked for SunTrust Bank and was also a member of "The Friendship Force" Port Orange Eagles and AmVets.
