Edmund "Ed" Harold Blakeman age 91 of Port Orange sadly passed away on Friday December 17 2010. A funeral service in his honor will be held Tuesday December 21 2010; 11:00 AM at the Port Orange Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home with interment at Daytona Memorial Park. A viewing will be held Monday 12/20 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Ed the "Experimental Engineer" was born in Maumee Ohio; one of nine children to Harold and Mary Blakeman. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army Air Corp and proud member of the Retread Motorcycle Group The Gold Wing Road Riders Association and The American Legion. He was a skillful man of many trades and talents: working as a machinist a land developer and residential home builder. Ed held several patents for his inventions and was an innovative resourceful artistic gentleman who loved to ride his motorcycle build things read and spend time with his family. "Mr. Wonderful" leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 12 years; Mary Blakeman 5 children: Ronald (Rusty) Blakeman Ted (Shelly) Blakeman Patricia (Larry) Veatch Lisa (Clayton) Hisler and CJ (Mark) Kereston 10 grandchildren and 9 ½ great grandchildren. In 1991 he was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years; Gladys Blakeman.
