Funeral services for Edith Creel Tate will be held at Union Baptist Church in Warrior Alabama on Saturday December 1st 2007 at 11 o'clock. The family will receive visitors at New Horizons Funeral Home in Sumiton Alabama on Friday November 30th 2007 at 6pm. Born December 15 1922 in Alabama Mrs. Tate passed away on November 27th 2007 at Southland Suites Assisted Living Facility in Ormond Beach Florida where she had lived for the last two years. Prior to living in Ormond Beach Florida she was a lifelong resident of Bagley Alabama. She was always very active in her community and church organizations. She was a talented cook and seamstress. She especially loved to make quilts and provided each of her children grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many friends and associates with stitches of love. She enjoyed working word puzzles and particularly loved a good game of Scrabble. She liked to travel and she was always ready for a good road trip to visit friends and family across the country. At various times in her life she was employed as a seamstress substitute school teacher and teacher's aide. Along with other family members she recorded a record album of Sacred Harp Music. In life or death Edith was without fear. She was the wife of Noah Eldridge Tate who proceeded her in death. She is survived by 4 children. They are Oliver Ray Tate and wife Martha of Texarkana Arkansas; Fay Tate Kalteux and husband Jerry of Ormond Beach; SuNell Tate Ellis and husband Don of Gardendale Alabama Alabama; and EdieTate Richarson and husband Bill of Alabaster Alabama.
9 Grandchildren: Kenneth and Keith Tate Brett Zeb and Seth King Alica Kalteux and Zachary Marcus and Veronica Richardson 2 great-grandchildren: Kelsie and Hannah Tate 4 step-grandchildren 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Harrison and Charles Creel and 1 sister Pauline Childers many nieces and nephews cousins friends and loving caregivers.
