Ebon L. Hill, Jr., 81, of Astor, FL passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Florida Hospital Hospice Care Center, Daytona Beach. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m.at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
Ebon has been a resident of Volusia County since, 1958, relocating from Lafayette, IN. He was a retired Residential and Commercial Contractor. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Halifax #81 Masonic Lodge F&AM. He was a strong Christian man, had a great sense of humor, and extremely strong willed. Ebon was a perfectionist when it came to construction. He loved working in his wood shop, traveling the country with his wife in the 5th wheel and serving as the camp's "Mr. Fix-it".
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Neva A. Hill, Astor, FL, his son, Greg (Teresa) Hill, Holly Hill, FL, his daughter, Lori (Cecil) Harrison, Maryville, TN, a brother Richard Hill, Salt Springs, FL, sister, Wanda Upson, Ormond Beach, and three grandchildren, Christina, Matthew, and Andrew.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Ebon's memory to the American Cancer Society, c/o Relay for Life of Knox-Univ. of Tenn. 871 N. Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.
